I have the framework laptop 16 amd ai 300.
I am finding that without audio processing, the mic is producing a large amount of static. I’m not sure if others have encountered this or if I got a dud. Other laptops and devices I own do not produce this much static without processing applied.
I am running ubuntu, but the issue does appear to be happening in windows as well.

Try setting the microphone’s volume in system settings to about 40-50%. My mic (both gen1 and gen 2) are utterly useless without doing this for some reason.

like other user said, lower mic volume in operating system/software. Some times having that at 100% and then you have 100% additional else where it will act like if it’s 200% and cause static sound.
It’s same for speakers, if windows is 50% and youtube volume has 100% it will be very loud like if it was 150% and cause awful sound quality, until you lower the youtube player volume, then sound becomes more normal and clear.
