I just got my framework 16 laptop, and got everything set up and working.
I just have one minor annoyance: Every time I close my laptop lid (it’s set to go to sleep on lid close), and re-open it, the rgb lights on my keyboard don’t turn back on. I can still use the keyboard though. Just the lights won’t turn on.
I’ve looked online, and I can’t seem to find anything about this. None of the Fn key combinations do anything. I’ve re-seated the keyboard. Even messing around in VIA at keyboard.frame.work couldn’t get it going again.
The only thing I’ve found that fixes it is a restart.
I’m having the same problem. It affects both the RGB keyboard and the RGB Macropad. I can get the lights back on by opening the catches and sliding the trackpad out far enough to reboot them. I was doing QMKwork on them, so this has become something I’m used to doing, but it would be nice not to have to.
Same problem here on Win10 x64. It’s firmware issue I think as keyboard backlight does not recover neither after sleep or hibernation. I wish it would work like on Dell XPS - once set to on at requested brightness it works every time you reboot, recover from sleep or hibernation… It’s quite annoying when you work in low light environment… I hope this will get fixed as it’s an issue from first days afte rthe release and nothing gets done about it. Trackpad trick does not work on Win OS…
I’ve found when the Keyboard lights don’t turn on, if you close the screen count to 10 then open the screen again it seems to then wakeup keyboard lights.
Assume its some kind of driver/firmware issue.
Let me know what is needed from a debug/collection perspective, happy to provide logs, debug info, etc to help get to the bottom of the issue.
