Framework AMD: Pluton Security Chip

The Framework Laptop 13 AMD has a Ryzen 7000 Prozessor, but does it also fully support the Pluton Security Chip?
(Usecases: tpm chip, random number generator, …)

In Windows 11, I do see a “Microsoft Pluton Processor” show up in device manager, so it does seem to be available on the AMD boards.

Be mindful that it appears to only be supported in Windows 11. Windows 10 AFAIK does not support or have a driver for the Pluton device.

That’s good to know, since some of the other manufactures deactivated the chip in their laptops.

So was it able to be disabled via the bios?

it is not possible to disable Pluton via Bios.
we where about to move to framework as a company wide system, not being able to turn of this Microsoft nonsene is a showstopper for us.

On Lenovos it is disabled by default

You can fix that easily by opting for one of the Intel Motherboards instead of AMD Motherboards. Microsoft probably doesn’t list any Intel Chips for a reason: Microsoft Pluton security processor | Microsoft Learn

But yes, Framework should definitely look into an option to turn that spyware off. It’s bad enough to have stuff like Intel ME as a blackbox, we don’t need another blackbox made by the company with the single worst track record over the decades when it comes to security.
