Framework Desktop Boot SSD in Wifi Slot

Hey all,

Has anyone successfully booted linux from an NVMe ssd on the wifi slot via an adapter? If so, did you have any clearance issues from the adapter + default enclosure?

Would love to learn other creative ways y’all succeeded to boot from the non-2280 slots (e.g. storage expansion card, pcie slot, …).

Thanks!!

Yes, this works fine. I get something like 1500MBs. I used an adapter for an A+E key slot.
I did this so I could put the m.2 slots in raid0 with mdadm. YMMV depending on case, etc. See the dGPU thread.

Thanks @Lukew4lker for the vote of confidence!

Per my experience for the future readers:

I can also verify that it works, even as a boot drive, after enabling wifi/bt in the bios.
