Framework Desktop LED front panel

I replaced the custom tiles by a custom LED panel. I used some WS2912b custom LED stripes that I had laying around.

These LEDs can be directly hooked up to the ARGB header on the framework motherboard. Pretty easy task. For now I’m using the framework_tool to control the LEDs, but I hope, that OpenRGB support will come at some point.

The wiring is messy, but well hidden behind a 3D printed diffusor. It is based on the Framework Desktop Tile Generator. I had to modify the front panel, but it was a pretty easy task using a sidecutter.

That looks realy nice!! I like it

Can the airflow pass the material? How do you manage the Airflow?

I never ran into issues with temperature, so I just didn’t care.

But if I’ll experience higher temperatures, I’m considering wrapping fabric around a 3d printed frame.

That looks so cool! I love it.

Agreed about hoping RGB support arrives eventually. Meanwhile, I’m planning to wrap a couple shell scripts around framework_tool so I can easily switch my fan LEDs on and off…

…just realized my first line weirdly echoed kmh’s. Not trying to outdo you, sorry!

Thanks for pointing out the tile generator, was planning to print a 3x3 for the front fan intake. This will save me a lot of time
