RGB fan doesn’t light up after power on and driver installations

Hello,

I am new to pc building with the first Framework desktop that came in today. I set everything up, powered everything on then installed all the drivers, but the RGB light on the fan does not seem to light up. Am I missing a step for this function to work?

Check out these pages for drivers and instructions. If you’re using windows, the first link should cover everything, or if linux, read the second.

If windows and not a Cooler Master ARGB fan, or your fan has more or less than 8 LEDs, follow the customization steps on the first link.

I actually had the exact same experience. I wish they made this stuff more visible to newcomers. Once you download the drivers, or the tool it should just work.

Thank you guys that worked!

It’s because we weren’t sure if the driver is going to work well and not negatively affect the system. That’s why we published it only as a beta on the forum.
I have made progress since then and will hopefully soon be able to publish a proper release of the ARGB driver for Windows!

The framework_tool works with the regular drivers that you need to install for the system anyways. Is that what you mean? Are those drivers not easily discoverable? If that’s the case, let us know how we can improve that, please.
