I have tried placing dimms ineach slot, it just stays on black screen unlit with loud fan
Have you left it for a while turned on? Could be memory training.
Loud fan means the computer is trying to come to life, if left does it calm down? It could be booting to recovery which could leave the fans on high.
Else first step I’d try is turning it on, then holding down the power button for ~30s to force it off. Then turning it on again, just in case it’s stuck in some weird mode.
Could be a monitor issue;
- Is there any life coming from the monitor?
- Are all the monitor cables plugged in properly to the motherboard?
- Can you see the backlights turn on?
- Shine a bright light onto the centre of the screen, can you see the framework logo or anything else displayed?
- Do you have an external monitor you can plug into it?
