Framework was working well until I get a black screen

I received my laptop yesterday, everything went well.
Installed windows 10
Updated the drivers and the bios.
I was installing my softwares and screen went black.
I tried removing one memory stick, tried the other and it still doesn’t boot.
I found the codes for the bios here

I’m getting 1 white, 12 greens, 1 red (orange), blue, green, blue then all the rest is green
So bit 0 and 2 are erroring but I’m not sure what it translates to.

Someone has and idea/link?

Well the very first step would be to get in contact with support, if you haven’t already.

Secondly, and I’m not entirely sure, but I am not sure Windows 10 is supported on any other than that the 11th Gen Intel mainboard.

Your code seem to mean that your hardware is good, but you have a possible buggy bios state. I’m not sure how to do a mainboard reset on the 16, but I’m sure support can help you with that.

Tried the mainboard reset (pressing the intrusion switch 10 times for 2 seconds each time) and it didn’t work…
Still waiting for Support’s reply

Just a correction. Windows 10 is only supported on 11th gen mainboards. All newer mainboards need Windows 11 to fully function properly.

Also because AMD mainboards use Microsoft’s Pluton TPM, you will not be able to upgrade directly from Windows 10 to 11 using their updater. This is because Microsoft was unwilling to provide Windows 10 the software to detect the Pluton TPMs so only Windows 11 is able to use/see the TPM.

The first 12 Greens basically mean the RAM is OK, no need to play with it.
Experience from others here in the community has made me conclude that the 8 POST code bits are useless.
We have the POST codes for the Intel 11th GEN, but not the AMD, which has different POST codes. So, not documented, and therefore useless.

So, from what you describe, you did get the display working.
One way to discount everything else, is to boot up into the BIOS.
Press F2 on/off/on/off… about every second from power on, until the BIOS appears.
If the BIOS appears, at least you laptop is mostly working, and it is more likely to be a OS software bug causing the problem.
When diagnosing the problem, you can test with an external USB keyboard and the top plate removed.
A good place to start is with no SSD or WIFI card installed, and see if you can get into the BIOS or anything is displayed on the screen.
You need RAM installed to get anything displayed on the screen.
Without RAM, all you have is the LEDs flashing.

Which FW16 do you have? With or without the GPU card?
Which USB port are you plugging the PSU into?

I tried removing the SSD and the wifi card and have the same issue.
I’m not able at all to get into the BIOS.
Even if I press Caps Lock or num Lock, the light doesn’t light up.
Using an external keyboard doesn’t even light it up and, same thing, num Lock and caps lock doesn’t do anything
To charge, I’m using the back right one.
I have the 7840HS CPU and I don’t have the external GPU

Oops! There only a driver bundle for Win 11

yep, but it still worked.
While the laptop was working, it worked beautifully, I wouldn’t have any issues dealing with windows bugs if it was a driver issue (been IT tech for 10+ years)
But it just died while I was working on it and doesn’t even boot up now

Hi.
Looks like your laptop is dead.
Only FW support can help you now.

Looks like I will receive a new mainboard shortly

Installed the new mainboard and it’s now alive!

@Eric_Bouchard
Its great that FW support sorted out your problem.
Just out of curiosity, did they want the old mainboard back, or just ask you the throw it away in the recycle bin?

I need to send it back
It’s still a 1000$+ part
