FRWK16 - AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 24.9.1 - ISSUES

Sorry i have no Clue why… It just worked after i upgraded to 24H2 on my Existing Install and directly after the fresh install of win 11 24H2

And also there is an NPU Tab in Taskmanager now, after 24.10.1 Install on 24H2

No worries
Do you remember if you did a system update or installed any apps before installing Adrenalin?

I plan on running more tests as soon as I have some free time as it takes less than an hour to have everything installed back.

You should also have a small overclock option.

Edit:
It looks like you are on 24H2, 26100.2448 and I’m on 24H2, 26100.2314.

Well i did multiple windows updates and reboots after the fresh install and than i did install the newest AMD Chipset Package before the Adrenaline Install.

What overclock Option and where should it be?

Nevertheless i am still on an older Version than i had before the resetup. The newest leaves the Year away on the Tray Clock. :joy:

That could be the reason, also, it looks like 26100.2448 is only available as beta/preview.

I remember that it was under Performance -> Tuning, in 24.8.1.

Ohh you are right, im on the Release Preview Channel. I have no Clue what Version it was when i freshly installed, but it was the latest iso from MS on the 17th.

Nope there is just a view for the Smartshift a Memoryoptimization Toggle and a SAM Toggle.

On my 24.8.1 install, there’s a section under Performance → Tuning → CPU for “Tuning Control” which allows Adrenalin to auto-overclock your CPU.

Ohh its because it is the Ryzen 9

Well as long as it lasted, after i insstalled the 3.05 Bios the newest AMD Adrenaline are broken again…
I am back at 24.8.1.

edit… Well i found why it was working for me.
I had Virtual Desktop Streamer forced to use the dGPU, after i stopped the App from beeing started with Windows. The OS is now using the iGPU and though the Driver is not working anymore. i found several Threads on the Internet, that the 24.9.1 and 24.10.1 have Issues with the 780m.

If you want to use a newer Driver, Force your dGPU to be always in use.

Interesting…I have no issues (other than thermal). I am on 24.10.1 (drivers only install minus Adrenaline bloat) and windows 11 24H2, 7940HS. 64GB Kingston and 4TB 990 Pro. Not a single issue [of course thermal which everyone has]. However, I don’t have the dGPU.

Personally, I want the Adrenalin bloat because that is what adds AI upscaling and frame gen. If I wasn’t trying to use it for gaming (and a little game dev), I might do the same as you.

Afmf2 is supported on the beta adrenaline driver before the september 16th beta. Many people have confirmed it stable. I can also say it has been great

I have 7940HS and I don’t see this Tuning Control option on my 24.8.1 install. Is it only available on 24H2?

I had the same issue as many have already descibed here with 24.10.1 (blank screen, freezing installation), and had to use DDU in safe mode to rollback to 24.8.1 which is stable. After seeing success stories with 24H2, I updated and tried installing 24.10.1 again only to get the same result.

I really hope FW can keep up with the latest driver updates. It’s frustrating to have bugs/crashes in games and editing software but then not be able to update to the latest drivers.

Using 7840HS with RX 7700s for reference.

Looks like 24.12.1 just dropped. Anyone who’s experienced this issue want to give that version a whirl? Am at work currently otherwise I’d do so, but hoping it resolves the issue.

I tried installing and got the black screen of death. I may try a ddu and then a install, but not looking too hopeful

It worked for me! I updated from version 24.7.1.

Just performed a clean install of 24.12.1 (drivers only) no issue with black screen or switching multiple monitors.

It seems like the Issue is related to Systemconfigs. Frwk pushed the 3.05 Bios to Release and in the known Issues Tab its written, that some Users with 64GB and more have Issues with a newer Driver.

I was having a pain trying to install the 24.12.1 driver on the old 3.03 bios. Updating to 3.05 seemes to have fixed all of my issues. Also, I have 64gb of system ram and setting ram to gaming mode has moved from 4gb dedicated vram to 8gb to the 780m. FW seem to have fixed all of my complaints.

I feel that I should add that I was having the white boost screen issue when I tried to install the afmf 2 beta that was previously stable for me. That was the september 6th beta. So far no issues with my 64gb of vram on 24.12.1
