That ghosting/blur in the video is because of the 24FPS camera frame rate. With the game running at 60FPS, there are around two and a half frames of the game in every frame of the video.
It doesn’t look like that in person.
If I’d thought about it ahead of time, I’d have recorded that part at 60FPS.
I am asking this here because I think it’s the best place for this issue.
I just got done setting up my FW12. I tried booting off my ventoy usb and I’m getting the secure boot error message.
I usually turn secure boot off while I am installing the OS and enable it and enroll later. I F2’d on reboot and can’t find secure boot anywhere in security. Has anyone else ran into this yet?
F2 will bring you directly to bios setup. I am not sure how to get to back to the menu before that. What I did was instead use F12 and the exit from the boot device selection menu. This will take you back to a BIOS dashboard of sorts. On this menu you want the bottom left option. I think it is labeled as Administer Secure Boot or something like that.
Looked through the BIOS twice today and then had a buddy look over my shoulder at lunch to see if I’m just blind and he couldn’t see a “secure boot” or “administer secure boot” option.
F12 brings me to the boot menu with no secure boot options and F2 takes me to the full bios.
I’ve reached out to support and will update here with what they say but hoping this is a fluke and a BIOS update will fix it hopefully.
I have never seen this screen. I’ve tried F2, F12 and Del. I’ll try again after the BIOS Update to see if that works for some reason. I even have quick boot turned off and have never seen this bios screen. Very confused and intrigued.
If I just spam F2 after pushing the power button, it eventually takes me to that screen. If I get into any of the BIOS menus, I can exit back to that screen.
Interesting. I’ve been spamming F2 since the first power on but this last boot about ten minutes ago I tapped the key based on your post and still went to the bios.
I did the BIOS update to 3.04 and then tapped F2 and finally saw this screen. I now have endeavor installing from my ventoy drive.
Thanks for the picture and help, I’m glad it was an easy fix.
Didn’t know that Sony made such a small laptop. Looked it. Sony makes nice stuff.
That said I must agree with you. The Framework 12 is a 2 in 1 with a 360 hinge. Plus you can use a pen on it, I don’t think the SX12 has a touchscreen either let alone a digitizer for pen input. When you look at the price of the SX12 as well, it is MORE expensive for less.
Another plus for framework 12 is socket ram slot, SX12 is soldered ram and since Vaio parted its way from Sony, the company down sized a lot so warranty speed is a lot slower compared to the past from usually 1 week to 2~3 weeks.
Oooh oooh how’d it compare!? I got a fw12 to be my default device only going to my Kamvas for more intensive projects and am hoping the major hits are just going to be preasure sensativity and color gamut. Any major feedback on the experince in Krita?
That was actually just a dirty comparison with what I thought was the framework 12.
It wasn’t.
From what I’ve seen the jitter on the fw12 seems to depend on the pen but not so much that the pen can be blamed alone for the jitter. I’ll test it with the lenovo precision pen 2 when I get mine in.
I now have a Metapen M2 and I still have the Slim Pen 2 for comparison. I’ll draw some slow, diagonal lines with each and show the results. Might not be today, but I’ll try.
Here’s a quick test showing line quality of the Metapen M2 and the Microsoft Slim Pen 2. I had stabilization turned off. The “slow” lines are moving really slow. The faster lines are moving a bit faster, but probably still took a couple seconds to draw the entire line. So not super quick.
Hard to kind of see, but it seems like the slim pen has the better line. Interesting. I have a slim pen that I got when I first bought a Surface Go. I’ll try that out and see how it goes.
Yeah, it’s surprisingly close, considering I got the Metapen on a Prime Day sale for $30. If I had to pick a winner, I’d pick the slim pen. But for a talentless, amateur like me, the Metapen would certainly be good enough.
I’ll definitely use the Metapen for now, until Framework releases their pen.
