Did Windows Update install the 24H2 update? This might have happened if you enabled the option “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available”. At least, that’s how I got the 24H2 several weeks ago. It caused many issues with my AMD framework laptop as well (although I have the 16" version), esp. display got all mangled up or was unresponsive. Connecting it to a docking station even made it worse. If you search for 24H2 on this forum, you’ll find more info.

I reinstalled the laptop with the latest 23H2 version (and I disabled the previously mentioned option). You might be able to have some success by disabling certain AMD devices in the device manager. I saw a post of someone mentioning disabling the AMD Audio CoProcessor, which led to more success. I assume AMD/framework will release new firmware/drivers in the (hopefully) near future.

Hth,
Mike.

I had the same problems on my brand new framework Laptop 13 AMD Ryzen 7840U on a fresh Windows 11 24H2 installation. Theres a thread for Framwork Laptop 17 with similar problems, and i followed the recommendation to disable the AMD Audio CoProcessor, which solved the problem.
Now I’m waiting for updates, to enable it again. (to be honest: I don’t know what it does, there is nothin missing with it disabled)

I have a Laptop 13 AMD Ryzen 7840U. I was offered 24H2 through windows update, and once it completed, it booted and I lost the taskbar. In an effort to see the start menu, I pressed the windows key. Most times when I hit the Windows key it seemed to go all black, then refresh again without the taskbar again. Sometimes it did nothing. shortcuts like WIN + E also didn’t work to launch an explorer window. When shutting down, it left the keyboard and power button lit up, so it looks like it doesn’t completely power down until I held the power button for 10 seconds.

I was using it mostly docked to a USB C dock. Once It booted just fine - perhaps when I was undocked.

Anyway, I gave up and just installed a backup from the morning before I updated, so I’m back to 23H2. I plan to follow these forums waiting for an official fix.
