what id like to understand is how you ordered 9 days before me, you are in batch 4, and i am in batch 8, how small are these batches???

What did you buy? My batch 2 board only still not ready to ship.
that might be why, they might be prioritizing full laptops if they are having shortages

They kinda Have to priortize full laptops shipping more than the individual board (Probably because people who buy the board already have a 1st gen FW16?)
yeah, not saying it doesnāt suck to have to wait longer but i am assuming the logic is most people buying a stand alone board are buying a one year upgrade while people buying a laptop might not have a computer at all or are replacing an older one so they give them priority.
The more cynical and realistic side of me also thinks they know people waiting on a whole computer are more likely to just cancel and choose a different brand than wait but someone already invested in the ecosystem isnāt.

with that logic I may not get it for 6-12 months then. Because if someone who get a full machine with a bad board would be again prioritized over me because they may become āunhappyā with a bad board in their config and send it all back and buy something else. If they use that excuse it is very lameā¦

I ordered this in preparation for school next year, but judging by this thread, Iāll be lucky to get this thing by the end of the semester.
Whatās the point of having Batches if itās totally useless? Many including myself in Batch1 and Batch2 still waiting while others in batch3 and batch4 getting delivery emails. I wonder why I was placed in Batch2 for Nov delivery? I placed my order in August! Clearly this Batch system is flawed!
batch 1-4 was ordered in august so thatās not really a big deal.
Idk why you didnāt get the delay email but it seems others who ordered just the main board got an email in november that said that they were delayed until 2nd week in december. I also donāt know if they got a follow up email yet this week.
As for batch 3 and 4 no one has gotten a delivery email that i know of so far only a billing soon email so i donāt know where you got that information from.

Update: 
Do consider that ordering a mere 8 hours after the announcement (which happened when over half of the world was asleep) wouldāve placed you into batch 3. Getting into batch 1/2 was mostly a matter of luck, esp. since the announcement and immediate opening of preorders was unannounced.
Whatās interesting is Framework seemingly prioritizing full laptop over board-only orders, which somewhat suggests that motherboards/CPUs appear to be the main bottleneck, not GPUs, RAM, or some other component (otherwise there would be little reason not to ship the surplus boards).
It somewhat makes sense from a business perspective - shipping full laptops ships more of the total inventory and makes more money. You also canāt buy a FW board from a competitor (while buying a different laptop is a realistic proposition), so it would also reduce the number of cancelled preorders. Sumfin-sumfin.

Whilst I do have the Gen 1 Framework 16, I am not looking to upgrade that presently ( later this year I plan to look at that )
Rather these 3 mainboards are for a high-availability cluster I am planning to build, in the form factor of a āblade serverāā¦
As to be expected based on the information in this thread before my post, no email from FW as yet.
