Batch 1 suffering in unison. Can’t wait to get the tracking info.
Batch 0 folks this week, every time an email notification pops up:

Is that the preparing to ship email!?
Hope shipping date is next week, but I just write a mail to support to ask shipping date few hours ago and they replied that “We aren’t currently able to provide order-specific ship date estimates due to a number of factors.”, so fingers crossed.
Normally, Framework sends out a “preparing to ship your batch” email at least a few days ahead of being charged, to let you know they are going to charge you the rest of the pre-order amount. At that point, you will have a few days to make changes to your payment method and such, if needed. After that, it’s a matter of watching your account to see that you’ve been charged, with is a good sign that the “your order has shipped” email is impending. So just be aware, if the “preparing to ship” email popped up on Monday next week, it’s still a toss-up if it will ship mid to end of the week, or possibly even the following week. Or, in some cases, even longer if any part of your specific configuration is behind in production for any reason (like a specific keyboard configuration or something).
This batch “0” is a new thing that I don’t think they’ve ever done before (that I’m aware of), so I suppose there could be some difference in the process, but the above is roughly what I’d expect.
I do hope the give some information about batch 0 though today or after, next week would be middle of June and the two reason I donated are I like what hack club is doing and I want to get framework 12 ASAP.
An announcement at last:
From the looks of it, seems like Batch 0 will be getting their laptops around mid-June at the earliest
This is a good news, but I really think they should put more effort towards batch 0 customers.
You could receive your email in a week or two, it isn’t surprising that review units are still going out first.
What kind of effort? ![]()
I think Ryuka was under the impression that Batch 0 Gray/Black units were going to ship by now, since the checkout page for FW12 still says Batch 0 for those colors ships in “early June,” and the new tweet implies that the shipping date has now been delayed past that.
I’m not in Batch 0 but I can see possible frustration from Framework not addressing that delay
Communication and transparency. Why there are no updates in beginning of the June? Why support only gave “We aren’t currently able to provide order-specific ship date estimates due to a number of factors.”, what factors that influence the shipping date of batch 0?
Radio silence will only cause frustration, I won’t said I donated to hack club only because I appreciate what they are doing, I also want to get Framework 12 in the fastest time.
Do I think batch 0 should have special treatment? YES, and all I want now is framework give us updates, what difficulties happened that cause shipping date become uncertain and how framework gonna resolve the problems.
add:
I’m not a fan of your response
I should not have the need to explain what kind of effort framework should put in here.
Framework is not a very new company any more, framework 13 has already going through several revisions and I believe framework should already understand the effort I talking about.
add2:
I personally don’t believe customer is always right. BUT, minimal requirements to promote to batch 0 is 250 USD, for these kind of money I think we deserve some degree of special treatment.
I just asked what kind of efforts you were referring to. I definitely understand your frustration, I’m simply trying to understand what our community members want from us, this is why I created this thread in the first place. Even though we’ve shipped many batches of different generations of Framework Laptop 13 (and 16), this is the first time we’ve created a Batch 0. And we can’t understand people’s expectations for this program without asking.
I might have interpreted your response with some degree of hostility, likely due to my frustration.
I understand that you’re trying to gather community feedback, and I want to clarify that my earlier message may have come off more harshly than intended—my frustration over the lack of communication likely influenced my view.
That said, I do hope Framework recognizes that Batch 0 participants joined with certain expectations. Clearer and more proactive updates would go a long way in maintaining trust. Even a short note on what’s going on behind the scenes would be appreciated.
Maybe it’s silly, but I imagine the
emoji used in the initial reply could easily be interpreted in different ways… depending on the mindset the reader is in and maybe even subconsciously without intent. Doubt
has one single, clear meaning around the globe. More likely most emojis don’t - if any at all.
I can easily see
to be taken as:
- “I see your message and genuinely want to learn more” (maybe most likely what @Destroya meant meant)
- “Surprised big eyes” - in the sense of “I can not believe that you wrote that”
Sorry if that comes across as over analyzing. But wanted to point that out as it might not be so obvious.
Glad the discussion continued the way it did though. Hoping to hear good news and more official communication soon.
In view of the expectation that was given of early June delivery, but review units are only just shipping, perhaps communications like were provided for the FL16 when initial deliveries of those were delayed could be what is required here to keep customers on side.
If you live in Japan or Taiwan, based on your profile, communication is high context there. You may interpret the context behind short texts in Japan or Taiwan (Asian countries). However, in the US, communication is generally low-context. There is not much context behind the text.
If you are interested in this topic, you can check the difference between US, Japan and Taiwan (Asian countries) on the following page, just buying 24-hour access.
Doesn’t it say that it ships early June? Ship and Deliver are not the same. I think Batch 0 can reasonably expect and email in the first half of June, but I don’t think delivery in the first half is realistic.
Framework could also have been talking about Batch 1 when they said that the first customer units would be shipping in a couple of weeks.
Overall I think now is a good time for a formal email/blog update on the current status of FW12 batches, if such an update post isn’t already around the corner.
The team is probably trying to time the next blog post with the release of FW12 press reviews, but it would still be nice to have an update before that happens if those reviews aren’t going live until the second half of June
My opinion is that batch 0 units could probably ship along side with review/press units, this would make batch 0 participant feels some what special.
