Sorry to hear that (still July though, right?). It seems to depend on what you change. CPU or color: you’re moved to the back of the queue. Everything else you stay in the same batch.
@jchase What did you change in your config?
I changed CPU, color and expansion cards
Still July though so no worries
Thanks for your info. I think the config page should show a warning message, when users try to change the config items that will change the place in the queue, if the page doesn’t show the message.
That worked; there was a big warning about it.
I see. So, did you intentionally change your config, knowing the result that your batch would be changed from batch 1 to 6?
To my own surprise I went with Sage - initially thinking I would go with black.
Specs: i3 with 16/500, though will probably change everything besides color and CPU.
On a side note: Does anybody know how to delete saved configurations in the store?
Just a rough search online: https://www.cpu-monkey.com/en/compare_cpu-intel_core_i3_1315u-vs-intel_core_i5_1334u. It seems that both CPU’s have the same TDP. If there’s no much power consumption/efficiency difference in the other circuitry on the mainboards, then I think both i3 and i5 should last the same amount of time in theory.
Does being in an earlier batch mean your order ships sooner, or is it just arbitrary?
Reason I ask is because all batches until 7 ship in July.
If they expect production to be fast, they may ship a batch a week, or even faster than that. That could be why they are still showing a July ship date.
In general, lower batch numbers will ship first, but there are other factors. For instance, if someone is in batch 5 and all parts for their configuration are ready and available, it may ship even though someone’s computer from an earlier batch hasn’t yet shipped, because some part of their configuration isn’t ready. I think this was mainly the case with the FW 16 because of all the various modules and options.
But let’s say the Sage color is running behind because of a supply issue or something. Other colors from later batches may ship if they are ready, even though some Sage units from an earlier batch haven’t shipped yet. Just as a possible example.
Yeah; I knew I’d go from 1 to 6. Was a tough call because I’m excited to get it but I figured I should get the config I really wanted!
That makes perfect sense. Thanks! :]
I looked at the Intel page for both processors, and it looks like 5200MT/s is the max supported.
I still bought a 5600MT/s Corsair stick because it was 23CAD cheaper, but with a slightly higher CAS latency.
I also picked up the same Sabrent 1TB that I put in my Steam Deck.
My bad; the latency should be the same, about 9ns. This stick is stable at 5600MT/s according to Corsair, so it should happily run at 5200MT/s.
I wonder if the stylus will be available by the time this batch is ready to ship and if it will be possible to add it to the order.
As far as I know it won’t be available till q3 so the early batches will not have a stylus.
Fortunately, you can use any MPP or USI stylus, which are readily available.
OK, I’ve found your post about the dual-mode.
Thanks!
The batch 1 guild thread seems like a strange place to find all other batch n guild threads.
OK. I deleted my comment above.
A dedicated thread would be cool though. I get it, I’m excited too.
