FW12 Screen upgrade potential

Did you try any of the custom ICC profiles for the FW12 to at least improve things a bit?

My FW12 screen had a slight green tint out of the box. When I applied @BigT’s ICC profile, it overcorrected slightly resulting in a reddish tint. This is fully expected. Unit variation is a thing, so someone else’s ICC profile will never perfectly match your screen. Ideally, everyone would calibrate their own screens to account for that, but that’s hardly realistic.
