FW13-AMD7840U Windows11: Bluetooth mouse loses connection

Hi there!

I have a problem with bluetooth and was looking for some help.

I have a Microsoft bluetooth mouse without a dongle. The mouse sporadically loeses connection with a brief popup: "the last conneceted USB(!) device was not recognized.

After some seconds the mouse stops working and I have to manually remove the mouse from the bluetooth menu and add it again to make it work. Sometimes this has to be carried out several times with weird behaiviours like inverted axis in between. Sometimes it does not work until a restart.

Mouses with dongles work, but I travel a lot for work, so I would prefer one without a dongle. Any Idea on how to fix this?

I tried the following steps:
Re-running the driver package installer to (hopefully) reinstall the bluetooth driver
Replace the mouse with a M240 from logitech

Still the error is popping up once or twice a day.

Kind regards

Aaron

Hi there,

I have the exact same problem. Do anyone know of a fix?

I followed this guide from Dell and it seems to have helped: Bluetooth Power Save Setting Causing Connectivity Issues | Dell US

Will post again if the problem persists.

I have the same problem on a 7840U with windows 11 24H2 and a Logitech MX Master 2S mouse.

My other 7640U on windows 11 23H2 and intel AX211 with a Logitech MX Anywhere 2S doesn’t have this problem.

I fixed this exact problem just by re-seating the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth card in the Laptop. YMMV.
