Graphics Module fans in Expansion Bay Shell?

Hi, I’m looking into replacing the fans in my Graphics Module with the gen 2 fans. I was wondering if I bought the Expansion Bay shell cover could I transfer my gen 1 fans over to it easily?

It would be nice to have an Expansion Bay for the occasion I want to bring my laptop on vacation and having it slightly shorter would be useful.

it think that it will not fit. Graphics Module Fan is ticker than expansion bay fan
