How to disable two-finger clicking on touchpad?

I am very new to both Framework and Linux, and quickly falling in love with both, but please forgive my profound inexperience — also my first post on the forum!

A month ago I bought a Framework 16 DIY (AMD Ryzen™ AI 300 Series) and installed Ubuntu 26.04 LTS on it (BIOS: 04.01, kernel: 7.0.0-31-generic). I’ve been meaning to make the leap to Linux for years, and figured doing it on a Linux-optimised machine with fantastic ethos only made sense

The issue I’m struggling with is how to disable two-finger right click on my touchpad (the standard Framework 16 three-piece touchpad).

At present I am very regularly finding that I trigger a right-click by accident when trying to left-click, and it is making the whole experience very frustrating! I never intentionally use two-finger clicking, so disabling it seems a simple solution, but after hours of searching online and trying various suggested approaches this is one thing I can’t seem to figure out on my own in this unfamiliar OS.

Ironically, the closest matches here on the forum seem to be people struggling to enable two-finger clicking — if only I could replicate their problems!

With thanks for any leads,
Shaun

I am running Mint rather than Ubuntu, but the former is based on the latter, so this may help. I have some options in here to disabled Click Actions. This is in the Mouse And Touchpad dialogue box. I am not sure this is sufficiently fine-grained for your need, but see if you have this:

If not, the community should be able to rustle up some console commands that more accurately accomplish what you are after.

Thanks for the prompt reply Squiggler! And yes, that has led me to solve my issue.

Embarrassingly (having spent hours trying all sorts of complex console approaches), it seems I had simply missed the circled tab at the top of the “Mouse & Touchpad” settings!!

After switching to Touchpad I was indeed easily able to disable “tap to click” and this appears to have got things functioning as I wished.

Both a huge relief and some red cheeks here! Thanks again :folded_hands:
