Hey all, new 5070 gpu module came in and quickly got to work replacing the 7700s. Just ran into some bumps along the way. I swapped the module and seated the new interposer (twice now) and the laptop still isn’t detecting an expansion bay module at boot. Any tips from anyone?
Update: I got it working after I used my old interposer that I had with the 7700s instead of the new one that came in with the 5070. Didn’t expect that to work but it did. Are the two identical and work interchangebly? If so either my new one is faulty or i just got lucky lining the old one up. Unless they aren’t identical, then it that case I must have somehow gotten switched up with which one is new/old
They are identical. It’s possible you got a dud interposer, especially if you reseated the card and the interposer itself multiple times. I would open up a ticket with support if you want to RMA it since you just got it. Check for any damage to the pins on it.
