Internal Screen Not Working + BIOS Locked After Opening

Hi everyone,

I have a Framework Laptop 16 DIY Edition (AMD Ryzen 7040, discrete GPU). Suddenly, the internal screen stopped working — no boot logo, no backlight — though an external monitor works fine.

I suspected a loose screen cable, so I carefully reopened the laptop and reconnected it on both ends. Unfortunately, the internal screen still doesn’t work, and now I’m locked out by the supervisor password (probably due to the intrusion prevention system being triggered).

Given the summer heat, I’m wondering if the display cable might have been damaged or melted, especially near the hinge.

Has anyone seen something similar or can suggest how to debug this further?
Also, is there any way to reset the password?

Thanks so much for any help!
