Hello All,
I’m also opening a ticket in parallel to the support but I wonder if anyone ever encountered this issue.
Context:
- Which OS?
Windows 11 - Which release of your OS
Windows 11 24H2 - Which Framework product
Laptop 13 AMD 7040 Series (7840u) with 2.8K Screen, Webcam 2 and 61W/H battery
Symptom: Laptop screen doesn’t turn on anymore.
Laptop age: 1 month old
Today, my laptop screen wouldn’t turn on anymore. Luckily I have an USB C screen that I’m using as a secondary. Allowing me to enter windows… Which doesn’t detect the internal screen anymore.
A tried forced restart, no effect. I tried booting from a linux mint disk, no screen either.
I wanted to enter Bios but it doesn’t load on USB C screen (maybe if I tried with an HDMI one?)
After a while I tried opening the laptop, checked the screen cable (seemed normal) and disconnected reconnected the battery. Then assembling everything back, it booted and screen turned on… for few minute. Then it never turned on again. I tried again what I did, without any success.
Did anyone here already encountered this issue? Could this be the screen cable? or the screen being faulty? As I got my laptop for such a short time, and still being under warranty, I’m sure the support will find solution. But I’m wondering the root cause. If I just have a screen from a bad serie so be it. But could there be a fragility with the screen cable?
Thanks a lot for your help - answers !
