Has anyone tried using any other brands of SSD’s besides western digital.
I am using am using a Samsung 990 pro 1TB M.2 NVME with no SDD/storage related issue so far

Just asking was thinking of getting a teamgroup 8tb mp44 m.2
I am using Lexar and Silicon Power SSDs in mine and both are working just fine.

SSDs are generally compatible, as long as you get a NVMe one and don’t buy one with a large heatsink or other non-removable case.
My Samsung 970 evo and Steam Deck’s 512GB drive are both working fine
The 2TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus has been working great for me the last month.
Yes, many people. Some random used Samsung 2230 and an SK Hynix P41 working fine here…
