Keyboard and Backlight not working anymore?

I’ve noticed this for a few weeks now basically my keyboard randomly stops working, for it to work I have to restart my laptop but now its stopped working fully, I’ve taken it apart but I honestly have no clue what I’m even looking at…This is probably a super easy fix for someone who knows what they’re doing. I’ve looked at loads of forums but still cannot figure it out. Thanks!


I had a problem with my Batch 3 Framework 13 keyboard awhile back, and found that replacing the ribbon cable solved it. If yours also has the keyboard go through the touchpad you may need to replace that as well, or the keyboard itself. But start with the ribbon cable!

I would absolutely recommend contacting support about this, but also note that Windows 10 is not officially supported by the AMD 7040 series or the Framework Laptop 16, and that this could be causing issues, I would recommend trying a linux live install if you are comfortable doing so, and seeing if the keyboard functions in that.
