Keyboard possibly damaged in shipping

I just got my framework 13 two days ago and unfortunately I haven’t been able to use it. The input cover or keyboard hasn’t been working, the power button didn’t work out of the box. I got it to work once but it wont anymore and only some of the keys work sometime intermittently. My laptops frame got damaged in shipping which idk if that could cause this but I’ll include images of the dent and my connectors. If someone could please help me out that would be great, support takes forever and I’m still waiting for a meaningful response.

Welcome to the community. Sorry to hear about your damaged laptop. Support is going to be the best to help you with this. If it was damaged enough to bend the frame of the laptop there is no telling all the parts that could have been affected. It takes a lot to permanently bend it.

Take pictures of the box it was shipped in and there is a good chance they will claim it as damage in shipping and replace the whole unit. You may want to wait to take things apart in case support wants pictures of everything to prove their case to the shipping company.

Odds are also good that the connectors managed to shift out of place in the great crunch it received. It happens and is frustrating on a new device.

I agree. That is not just keyboard damage. Try to get the entire laptop replaced.
Was the box it came in damaged at all?

Thanks for your replies guys, I’ll try to get the entire laptop replaced now you guys recommend it. And that’s what was weird the box didn’t look damaged at all really just normal wear on the edges but nothing crazy. That’s why I was shocked to open it to see that dent, maybe it came from another part of the process but idk.

Are you looking to test out or otherwise use the laptop while waiting for framework?

If you have a usb keyboard, you could probably do that. There is a BIOS option called “power on AC attach” if I recall. It will boot the laptop when a charger is plugged in. To get into the bios to toggle the setting, there is another power button on the mainboard, a tiny button in the top right corner of the board.
