I have two Fedora 13 refurbs that I recently purchased. My son wanted a mechanical keyboard for his and I had the K8 on hand. When plugged in, the BT and Charge light both blink and it does not work. If plugged into another laptop, LG, and my Macbook Pro and it works fine. I have Fedora on my 13 and it exhibited the same issue. I also tried it in a usb-c dongle and no luck. Are there any known issues with this USB-A port?
I have the same thing with my ancient ScanSnap sheet scanner. It doesn’t work if plugged into USB A expansion card, a USB C to A dongle, or a C to A cable … but if I plug it into an ancient USB A hub, then then plug hub into the Framework, it works.
The framework has by far the most agressive 5v ocp of any devices I own.
Even sader is we can’t even deal with that in the ec because it is either done by the pd controller (black box) or the power mux (doccumented interface but only accessible through the pd controller).
As far as I can tell from the schematic we got more than enough 5v available to give every port 3A and still have more than enough capacity to run everything else 5v internally but for some reason they are doing the whole only one 3A device complexity that doesn’t even seem to work (maybe because they aren’t also reconfiguring the ocp in the power muxes).
