OS: Arch Linux
I was using my laptop to play Minecraft, hit fn+f3+f4, and then all of the sudden my keyboard stopped working, but all the keys I was holding acted like they remained held. After rebooting, a null character was printed on the hard drive decryption page.
Fixes tried:
- Rebooting
- Attempting to see if inputs worked in the BIOS
- Reseating both sides of the cable for the input cover
- Trying an external keyboard (that worked but I don’t want to use the external keyboard)
- Reseating the cable for the keyboard itself
Information:
- Trackpad works, lights for keyboard stay on
- I might’ve hit some other keys when I hit that key combo that broke it somehow
- fn+spacebar doesn’t work to change the keyboard brightness either
- Absolutely no keys work, not the letters, not the fn keys, none of them.
please help, thank you. This is the second time I’ve had to replace the input cover on this laptop, which very frustrating since I’ve had it for less than two years. It doesn’t matter how repairable this laptop is if it isn’t durable.
