I have a Framework Laptop 13 DIY Edition (12th Gen Intel® Core™). Running Windows 11, i5 prosesser. It powers on but the screen will not light up. The power button lights up and the fan spins. The “charging light” blink code is: W, G, G, G, G, G, G, G, G, G, G, G, G, R, B, G, G, G, G, G, G, G. (W(White), G(Green), R(Red),B(Blue)).
I’ve tried changing Nvme drive, replacing to RTC coin cell battery, and resetting the main board. I also tried connecting to an external monitor but it couldn’t read anything.
Try removing as much as you can.
E.g.
Remove the wifi card.
Remove the nvme SSD.
Remove the eDP laptop display cable.
Plug in an external display.
If you have 2 RAM chips, remove one of them.
See if that helps at all.
Then if it helps, start putting things back in until it stops working again, to find out which device is the problem.
I get this whenever my battery is below 15% and the system is off. Charging the system until it stops charging (stops at limit, interestingly), powering it off (hold power button), letting it sit for a bit, then trying to turn it back on usually does the job.
(this was actually the status out-of-the box for my system, pre-assembly and happens semi-monthly)
I should also add, I don’t always get the blinking lights, but I often do. External monitor usually doesn’t work, but sometimes it does.
In my case, this may be multiple different issues, and may not even be your issue at all.
