Hello, I’ve been using my fw13 with a 7840u for a while now and absolutely love it.
My only complaint is the noise to temperature ratio: I have already repasted the cooler a year ago and the laptop is on a stand with plenty of airflow, both helped but I still regularly hit 100°C with fans spinning at max speed. I know that laptops are okay with those temperatures and that CPUs can get hot especially under all core workloads. But I do want to improve noise and temperature. So I did some digging:
While the AI300 cooler is officially not compatible with the with the AMD 7000 series Mainboard, it fits and helps a lot to drop temperatures according to Reddit and forums.
Now I assume the answer to my question will be no, since it’s a different cpu manufacturer and motherboard,… but I want to make sure:
It once again says that officially, the fw13 pro cooler is only compatible with the Mainboard generation it is designed for, but if one were to install the Intel cooler on an amd motherboard, would it work in general and would it be better than the ai300 cooler?
