Which Framework Laptop 16 model are you using? (AMD Ryzen™ 7040 Series)
AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS w/ Radeon 780M Graphics
I just set up my new framework laptop, and overall things are working well. I am using the laptop with 2 external dell monitors. Initially I had put an hdmi adapter in slot 2 and a display port adapter in slot 1 (Expansion Card Slot functionality on Framework Laptop 16), but only the hdmi connected monitor would show an image, the display port connected monitor just went to sleep. I swapped the display port adapter to slot 4 and then suddenly the display port monitor came alive. Is it a known issue that slot 1 does not work for display port?
Also I am likely going to just get a usb-c hub and not use the hdmi/display port adapters in the laptop itself. Is using hdmi+display port ok, or should I go for hdmi+hdmi or maybe even display port + display port?
Also one minor issue: powermanager in xubuntu notifies me that the battery is charging while plugged in, but then after a few minutes powermanager says the battery is now discharging. These states keep toggling back and forth (charging to discharging back to charging) every few minutes. It doesn’t impact the usage of the machine or my workflow, but it is kind of annoying to see the notification.
The battery issue seems like a hardware issue rather than something linux is doing.
