Hey folks,
Issue observed in Ubuntu/Kubuntu 24.04 / 24.10, latest BIOS as of writing.
I’ve noticed plugged into my Thunderbolt dock (Caldigit TS3 Plus) the audio device of my connected monitor isn’t showing up in the audio device list. The analog output of my dock shows up, internal sound works fine, and USB audio works fine.
Pretty much everything else works great under linux, though I have a recent issue that I need to remove “splash” from the kernel command line to get the login prompt booting. That…might…be an upgrade to 24.10 thing, not sure yet. Audio issue preceded this, so it’s not directly related.
Audio, HDMI output included, works fine under Windows 11 – I’m dual booting.
Anyone run into similar issues here? I see older topics on kernel command line overrides needed for 11th gen, I would hope that’s all smoothed out by now.
In general Kubuntu’s been a great experience on this, finally to the point of daily driving desktop Linux, and the windows boots are getting rarer. So hoping to smooth over this last nit. Appreciate any thoughts!
