This isn’t directly related to Linux, but a recent hyprlock update added fprintd integration directly.
Now, because of how my idle rules are set up, it tries to read fingerprint auth for about 30 seconds before sleeping. During this, the fingerprint sensor gets uncomfortably hot to touch. Is this normal?
I don’t think so? if possible I would try to make it not read fingerprint auth for 30 sec ever
That’s ideal and I might try to make a hyprlock PR sometime to do it. But the fact that it can even get so hot at all just from reading has me worried.
its not surprising as a lot of other high resolution sensors get hot, and the heat is exaggerated by the fact that it has nowhere to go, so its not drawing a ton of current but there just nowhere for it to go so it accumulates and gets hot.
