Interesting. I came close to ordering mine a day or two before I actually did and thought I saw that batch 3 was still up for DIY i5 kits. Your order date proves me wrong. I’m glad the wait is nearly over
CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-1165G7
Memory: 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-3200
WiFi: Intel® Wi-Fi 6E AX210 No vPro®
SK Hynix P31 Gold 1TB
Expansion Cards
3 USB-A
2 USB-C
1 HDMI
1 Display Port
Power Adapter - US/Canada
Ordered it September 23rd, so it looks like I made the cut for Batch 4 since it just sold out!
Also a DIY in batch 4, ordered September 8th.
Core i5
1x 32GB
1TB WD SN850
Cards:
1x HDMI, DP, USB-A
3x USB-C
2x RAM sticks is ideal, but maybe some day I’ll need or want to upgrade to 2x32GB… Or maybe I’ll give in and just upgrade the order when the batch warning goes out.
I’ll be dual booting Linux and Windows, since I daily Linux but use Adobe products and Fusion 360 for hobby stuff. It’ll be really nice to have a portable machine that can reasonably run those. I’ve run Debian basically forever, so I was a little worried when they said that the laptop really needs a 5.11+ kernel and Stable and Testing were both still on 5.10 – but now Debian’s on 5.14. But maybe I’ll try a different distro just to be adventurous?
I know that we all signed up for the batch system, and I don’t expect anything more than what we’re getting, but the radio silence is keeping me on the edge of my seat!
I’m also in batch 4.
I guess I’m a lucky guy. I ordered mine on September 27.
CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-1185G7 (I thought that this cpu would be ordered the least)
2 USB-A | 1 HDMI | 1 MicroSD | 1 DP | 3 USB-C | 1 Storage – 1TB | 2x16 GB
I’m in batch 3 but that thread got lonley. Can I join this boat?
Can’t wait!

- 1 MicroSD
This will be 100% linux. Will be installing Elementary OS most likely.

I ordered September 9! Waiting eagerly. So very eagerly.
- DIY
- i5-1135G7
- Wi-Fi non-VPro
- BYO Storage and RAM (Gonna use 1 stick of 16GB G.Skill for upgrade later, and a 1TB WD Black)
- Power adaptor
- 2 USB-C, 3 USB-A, 1 HDMI
Gonna be my first real Linux experience. Going with Mint, I think. Looking forward to get into the nittygritty! It’s a modest system, but one I am so excited for. Definitely gonna be a good replacement for my Ryzen 3500U Lenovo Ideapad!
DIY ordered Sep. 27, 2021
Intel Core i7-1165G7
Wifi: AX210 No vPro
Storge: WD Black SN750
RAM: BYO (2x16G mismatched manufacturer but same CAS, out of my old Dell. It works beautifully in that machine, so I’m hoping the same of the Framework. Worst case, both machines have 16G)
OS: Manjaro or Arch, with KDE Plasma as my DE, dual-booting Windows on the side. Might play around with rEFIned or Clover for a more slick dual-boot experience. I love to tinker.
Modules:
2x USB-A
4x USB-C (going for that MacBook compatibility
Plan to get more when the Marketplace goes live, notably an HDMI port, but I’ve already got some dongles lying around.
And last, but not least, the humble Framework Screwdriver; the part I’m most excited about.
My out-of-warranty Dell is experiencing hardware issues and there’s nothing I can do about it without incurring massive fees for no reason. After seeing Framework ship batches 1 and 2, I figured now was a good time to jump ship. I can hardly wait to feel the right to repair coursing through my veins for years to come.
EDIT:
Preparing to Ship: 2021-10-25
Shipping Soon: 2021-10-27
Shipped: 2021-10-29, ETA 2021-11-03
KDE Arch has been on my daily driver for almost two months now. Still trying to get KDE exactly the way I want it, but I like the customizability a lot more than gnome (plus there are some widgets I love too much to give up!)
Can’t wait to get it running on Framework
Ordered on Aug 31
DIY Edition
- CPU: Intel Core i7-1165G7
- Memory: BYO: G.Skill Ripjaws 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3200

- Storage: BYO: 2TB Samsung 980 Pro
Expansion Cards
- 3 USB-C
- 2 USB-A
- 1 MicroSD
- 1 DP
- 1 HDMI
Probably going to be a 100% Linux system, I’ve already got plans to use something Arch based, most likely Garuda
Also in that boat, ordered on the same day. I have to be out of town randomly throughout October so anxiously awaiting a shipping email so I can hopefully plan around it.
Order placed Sep 9, 2021 officially started process a week earlier. Ordered two to test for possible / likely corporate adoption.

Batch 4 is shipping! Batch 4 is shipping! https://www.reddit.com/r/framework/comments/pz083i/guess_whos_batch_4_arrived/
Ordered Sep 22.
DIY i7-1165G7
Non vPro WiFi
2xUSB-C, 1xUSB-A, 1xHDMI
Buying TeamGroup 2x16GB RAM kit + 1 TB Sk Hynix Gold P31 SSD
Can someone verify the Reddit post with the Batch4 delivery?
I’d be really skeptical about that…
I’m also skeptical. No one else from batch 4 has reported receiving the pre-charge email. My guess is that poster was in batch 3 and got confused.
Yes they were just shipping out batch 3 a week or two ago and FedEx takes their time, so this is probably a batch 3 shipment.
DON’T GET US SO EXCITED!
