@Christopher_Kelly - Viva November! Our batch gets all the joy of shiny, new kit without the chaos and mayhem of Black Friday shopping.
Looking forward my DIY’s arrival: i5 processor (7 generations beyond current laptop) 32GB RAM (4x the capacity of current laptop) 1TB SN750 (4x the capacity of current SATA SSD) Wifi 6, no v-pro USB-A x1, USB-C x2, HDMI x1, DP x 1, 250GB Storage expansion card BYO OS, probably Ubuntu Cinnamon 21.04 or 21.10
Got a wee while to wait now, gonna spend it getting more acquainted to Ubuntu. Cheers!
I hope the samsung 980 (nonpro) nvme works in mine. I am planning on installing arch on the nvme using my desktop box, hopefully to give me a jump start for when mine arrives.

By buying the Storage, Memory & OS separately I managed to save $338.55 compared to if I had bought them bundled with the system. The fact that Framework makes that a possibility is a huge deal to me. With that money saved I can put it away as funds to buy any replacement parts or upgrades I might need in the next few years. At the current market price listings that’s enough in savings to cover the cost of a replacement keyboard, battery, screen, hinge set, speaker kit and wifi chip!
Can’t wait, I’m currently in uni and my daily driver (an old Thinkpad-420) is very heavy to carry everyday. The screen resolution/format (1366x768 19:6) is trash and the processor can’t keep up. Can’t wait !
Just placed my order for batch 5!
Config:
CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-1135G7
WiFi: Intel® Wi-Fi 6E AX210 No vPro®
Memory: 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200
Storage and OS are same as current because I recently replaced it.
Expansion cards:
1 HDMI
2 USB-A
1 DP
2 USB-C
1 MicroSD
I probably saved $300 just because of the ability to use my own ssd; Framework is the future.
Going to primarily run Windows 10, may dual boot with Windows 11. Also got a “gray carbon” dbrand skin for the lid and bottom cover. Currently preparing my new docking station, desk and monitors. Full new setup.
nice! I let my wife pick the decal and she went for almost purple. doesn’t look great in the rendering but I googled some MacBook examples that look really nice.
I just bought a new laptop in June, but had to support Framework once I heard about them. I also love the 13.5" form factor. I am planning on using this machine for a linux machine, but haven’t decided on the distro yet. Like you all, I hope this gets delivered sooner rather than later.
Hey everyone! I placed my order at the beginning of October and have been impatiently waiting ever since! I am pretty excited about what FrameWork team has done here. I hesitated for a while as my Early 2015 13’’ Macbook Air is still working well. Yeah, 4GB of ram + 2 Cores up to 2.7 Ghz is not much, but it gets the job done! My wife finally pushed me over the edge though. Plus I really wanted to support the company! Great job guys!
Here’s what I got:
CPU: Intel i7-1165G7
RAM: 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-3200
Storage: 500GB WD_BLACK™ SN850 NVMe™
WiFi: Intel® Wi-Fi 6E AX210 No vPro®
