Ordered a 5070 received a 7700S? WTH

looking at the other pictures on here they all appear to have that screw denting the copper plate to some degree.

Speculation: maybe tightness is to spec, in order to have contact with the underlying hot components and/or to shield heat.

Another mislabeled 5070 over here. Amusingly, the QR code DOES still go to the page for the 5070, though! So, just the text on the label is wrong.

I have the same issue here, my graphics module is mislabeled as a 7700S, but the system identifies it as a 5070.

Can we get updated labels sent to us, so that in the future, if we are trying to resell the module it doesn’t cause confusion?

The heatsink and ram cooling plates should be sufficient to tell any specific module from an image alone. The wrong sticker is a bit funny, but really doesn’t matter. You might as well try to sell a Honda Civic as a Lambo by sticking a sharpie tag to it.

I would support a “fix” by sending the correct label - since now I’ll have to remove it before selling it in the future to avoid confusing buyers, and at the same time, I can’t prove (easily) just from seeing the hardware that its a RTX 5070 (yes its different, but to the average user, its just “hardware”)

all you need to do is have them scan the QR code of the gpu leave that sticker on and remove the installation instructions sticker that is mislabeled, or maybe just not updated for the 5070 yet as it doesn’t have a separate installation page.

Limited edition missprint version XD

Same.

Ordered 5070, got a unit nearly identical to the 7700S with the 7700S sticker on it.

At first it wasn’t recognized at all. Realized I didn’t have the latest BIOS with 5070 support.

After the BIOS and driver bundle update, it was recognized and is working properly.

Read there was a throttling issue with the 180w PSU so hoping the 240w resolves it.

Edit: Put the card in anyway, it’s just labeled wrong.

Talk about infuriating. I just got around to opening the supposed NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 expansion module I was shipped 2 weeks ago. The box is labeled correctly, but upon opening, the part is labeled with the AMD Radeon RX 7700S label. New one is on top, my old one is on the bottom.

I already emailed them, but I’m wondering if they’ll think I’m lying. Jesus.

There have been other reports like this.
The module is just miss labelled.
You have the right module.
If you follow the QR code from the module, it leads to the 5070.

Damn. Thanks, James, you’re right! I put it in, and it’s detected as the 5070. :expressionless:

They need to improve their QA. Fortunately you got the correct, if mislabeled part. Frustrating? Certainly. Infuriating? I’m not so sure. And I’m not exactly terribly even keeled…
