Poor availability of replacement parts

The main selling point of the Framework Laptop is repairability. But how am I supposed to repair my device if the replacement parts aren’t available?

My device fell to the floor, which was my fault, and it’s out of warranty, so I’m fully prepared to pay for the damage myself. As you can see in the picture below, there are currently three relevant parts for the Framework 13 out of stock. This likely means that other users will run into the same issue.

I’ve been waiting for over three months for the bottom cover kit to come back in stock. At this point, it’s simply frustrating.

Is there any communication from Framework regarding the availability of non-shortage components like housings or covers?
I understand that CPUs, GPUs or RAM can sometimes be difficult to source.
However, I struggle to understand why basic hardware components are unavailable for such a long period of time.
It shouldn’t be that difficult to produce and keep a reasonable number of items in stock for after-sales support and repairs.

I am just another user like you.
The parts do eventually come back into stock.
For example the FW16 GPU fans 2nd gen, were out of stock, but now they are back in again.
FW stock availability (number of different parts, UK customer viewing page. Numbers vary by region):
In stock: 127
Coming soon: 16 ← The FW top / bottom cover is there.

I think it would work better if FW customers could still order items that were out-of-stock, because then as soon as they came back into stock, the customer would not need to do anything, it would just be sent out to them.
This way, as soon as the item comes in, customers have to rush to order them, before they sell out again.

For everyone experiencing this:

Make sure you email framework and log a support ticket about it, too.

Only posting in here isn’t guaranteed to get framework’s attention.
