PopOS forgets display settings when connected to external monitor via USB-C dock

I just got my DIY. I took the PopOS disk from my System76 device and installed it into the framework. So far it works well with one exception: When I reboot or just disconnect/connect the dock, the system forgets all display settings like monitor resolution, scaling(150%), monitor layout and so on.

This used to work fine on the system76 device. Any ideas how to make this work?

Try a fresh install, it may work then. If you do a fresh install, backup all of your important files.

Tried a fresh install onto a different disk but no success. Same behavior. If I had more time I could try KDE. Maybe it’s gnome.
