Power button stuck

More info

So one day when I was using it the power button got like stuck like it got like press stuck so I thought hey if I can open it, maybe there’s like something inside of it. That’s like forcing it down it’s like jammed so I opened it. I found three screws and if I loosened them, it would work normally right so then I try and play it back together because I fixed it but when it hits the pad like the shell like once you put the keyboard down, it will press the button so you have to find a sweet spot where it doesn’t stay stuck no matter what and it doesn’t stay stuck when you press it in the shell I could not find the sweet spot and I was wondering if there was like some error or something with my problems.

About the laptop

So I’m not going to put any software details because it’s a hardware issue but it is DIY version so the thing and it’s about a month old haven’t used it that much but like there’s decent use say about 100 250 hours it’s a framework 13 until core ultra once again. I don’t think they’re gonna need like how much ram I have in storage because it’s not related to those things but I’m gonna say it anyway 16 gigs of RAM and a terabyte of storage if you need any more details, please let me know in your reply

Your help would be very much appreciated

I can’t follow exactly what your power button’s problem is from your description. I’ve accidentally glued mine in place a couple times though, and cobbled it back together afterward, so I can talk about it a bit. Maybe that’ll help you.

First off, Framework does sell the power button + fingerprint reader assembly, so that might be an option for you, at https://frame.work/products/fingerprint-reader-kit

If you click through to the repair guide linked at the bottom of that page, it shows this metal bracket getting removed from the bottom of the assembly. The actual button is the clicky bit, upside down, with a black dot on it, under the square that you press on with your finger. The plastic legs that hold it flex enough for the button to push down against the rigid metal bracket. What you’re describing, maybe one of the plastic legs is broken? Maybe something cracked somewhere or is out of place? The top of the button should fit neatly in the square hole in the top of the case. Unless something’s broken, I’m not sure how it could get stuck. Maybe you could use the repair guide images for reference?
