I’ve only had my FW12 for about half a year now. I do my best to be really gentle with it, even when drawing (and have my pen settings adjusted accordingly!)
Recently, I’ve noticed what appear to be pressure spots. Not sure if they’re from the magnets or my own mess ups along the way. They’re small now, and only really noticable on darker backgrounds- all the same though. I want to snip the problem before it gets worse. Has anyone else had this issue?
Do you have a larger image for context as well? Not sure which area I’m looking at with the small image. It clearly shows the pressure points. I assume that’s the screen? Would be nice to see where your points are located in relation to the whole screen to make comparison easier.
Edit: Personally I’m using a matte screen protector film. Not so much as protection but to avoid screen glare. IIRC there were some faint marks from the keyboard after some usage (before I applied the film). Started using a very thin micro fiber cloth - the one usually used to clean glasses - to separate screen and keyboard when closed. No marks at all since then and that way I always have something to clean with me.
My marks looked more like smudges and not like (possibly damaging?) pressure points. Were always easy to clean up and remove.
Additional disclaimer: I’ve also read about putting something between screen and keyboard possibly being being damaging in itself. I’m accepting the risk and so far it’s working out well for me.
A better picture would help so we can understand where it is.
If this is the screen in the bottom corner, I had a very similar thing happen which I detailed here.
It hasn’t happened again since getting the screen replaced but it took around 5 months of daily use last time so I have no idea if it’ll happen again.
Hi, just following up with you, I also have noticed my screen turning yellow on along the edges, center and corners, I have filed an issue with support and wondering if I have the same issue as you.
This looks more like light bleed to me. Bad light bleed is present on all 12 displays. Would you post a picture of the screen displaying all white so we can compare?
I noticed that my yellow spots were very noticeable on a white background
I don’t have yellow bleeding sploches yet. What I have seems to be some sort of pressure spot? I was told by support that it couldn’t be the magnets. I’m shipping the display for investigation (?) as soon as I get the new one in. Support seems equally stumped.
I SWEAR NOTHING BUT ART I promise I’m careful. My laptop’s my first modular and I forgot a screw when support crew asked me to get a picture of the back of the display. I am always hesitant to open up really fragile + large components of any repair for this reason..l A hard lesson learned with this one to always triple check screws and mounting points if something’s giving me trouble.
