Hello everyone,
I’ve bought the Framework 13 yesterday, but I’ve noticed something quite surprising today. The price of the Ryzen 7640U variant in Poland is currently 3959zł, or 4689zł with the 2.8K screen (that’s about €954 and €1130 respectively). Now, prices for the same products in other EU countries are much lower. E.g. (skipping currency conversion):
Needless to say, I am quite disappointed with this discovery. So, my primary question is: why are the prices in Poland about €50-100 higher than in any other European Country? VAT doesn’t really explain this, as the rates are similar to other EU countries. Neither does currency conversion, as shown above. And neither does logistics: all neighbouring countries have it €100 cheaper.
My first thought would be that there are other fees required by your government. Outside of this maybe it has to do with logistical cost associated with moving stock into your particular region? (I think all of Europe is serviced out of the Netherlands.)
I doubt there are any fees which are this high compared to all other EU countries (but I cannot say for sure of course). But yes, there has to be some reason, the prices aren’t just set randomly after all. What I’m suspecting is that the price has not been adjusted for currency fluctuations since the introduction of Framework to Poland. This was last year, and since then the price of 1zł has risen from €0.23 to €0.24. Going by PLN-EUR rates from April 2024 this would put us almost exactly into the price bracket of Spain, Portugal, Finland and Denmark.
If this is the reason, I’m wondering if there’ll be any adjustments in the near future.
Same, preordered 13 couple days ago (pl), but pretty disappointed seeing now that its price is higher than any other EU country. Taxes shouldn’t be the sole reason for this.
