This was what mine looked like at first before I tightened the screws the first time so that might be your issue. The screws are needed to hold that part in.
If you’re really concerned about cracks it might be better to just tighten the screws without fully seating them so there’s no tension on the plastic.
OK, but that is not what happens at the two wrist rest corners… They are sitting flush with the frame, and you have to put quite a bit of force on the raised corners to get them down and into a position to engage with the screw…
So I am very hesitant to put any pressure on the plastic…
Those are guides and what actually fixes it into place are the magnets that you can see in the picture - you hear them engage, and then further engage all round the frame as you lower it in.
The screws are just there to make it secure so that it can’t be knocked out accidentally.
Something is causing those corners to be raised. The part of the input cover that is between the hinges is sitting flush as well.
You may be right in that there is nothing to worry about, but I am hyper-nervous given the other cracking issues.
Support now have a whole load of photos and video, and have come back to ask for more info…

Yeah, I’m not what support means by bubbles, unless there is a sticker or something with bubbles under it (I haven’t looked under the input cover recently). But both of my units have the corners raised up a bit like that before I tighten the screws. In fact, those back corner screws won’t even engage unless I push the cover in slightly. So whether or not it is a “problem,” I can’t say. But I can say it’s at least very common, because both of mine behave exactly like that.
I’m a bit curious if “bubbles” actually means bubbles in the plastic, which normally points to issues in the molding process looks at the on-going cracking issue
They mean the air bubbles on the bottom of the input cover. But they said it a bit weird.
a slightly clearer way to say it might be like this:
“After inspecting your photos, we found that there are no obstacles near the top screws. The only thing causing the gap are the air bubbles on the underside of the input cover.”
The way they said it is correct, just a bit wordy and hard to understand without reading it a few times.
