Random Power Loss

I recently got my framework laptop 12, and it was working fine yesterday with no issues. Today, it started randomly powering off and I have to reboot it. This also happens even in the bios with the laptop plugged in. It normally powers off around 10-30 seconds after powering on.

Another issue that I did encounter on the first day was high thermals while in the bios. The exhaust on the top of the keyboard was hot and the fans were very loud while just being in the bios. The laptop did cool down when I was in a live cd and the os.

Afaik it is normal as in bios there are no power savings active, leading to high temperature and fan-spin

This issue seems to have been solved after I took the battery out and placed it back in.

I am experiencing this too. If I move it wrong it just powers off. I suspect it’s the battery connection. I’ll open it up and have a look soon.

I opened my laptop up and removed and reseated battery. I thought that had fixed my, but I’m having random shutdowns again. Any suggestions here?

New clue, now when I power on my laptop I see the attached. I’m trying to with with support, but I suspect a faulty fan is to blame. However, it’s hard to know. It seems reasonable that the hardware would shut down if it lost it’s fan in an act of self preservation.

(FWIW I’ve hardly used the thing so far. I can’t risk losing work I’m working on. So I just turn it on from time to time and dream.)
