Recommended laptop bags / cases / sleeves?

If I wanted to splurge a bit more, what a “better” Haulpack.

That Pelican shell doesn’t have any should strap, or even clip points for one, does it?

How would these packs be?

No it does not :frowning: , it does have an elastic hand strap, but we both know it’s not quite the same if you’re say, trying to order a coffee.

Ah crap, blast. Nope, not going to work for me then, even though otherwise seems perfect for my interim :frowning:

The 30L version of the Everyday Backpack would fit an FW16 w/o a dGPU for sure; with the dGPU, it probably fits, but just barely. It’s a really nice bag with a “premium” look and feel great internal organization, and padding.

Well, I want to plan for the future though, so the everyday is probably not enough tbh, any other premium look and feel?

Are you sure yours isn’t more similar to Business 120/EKP120 ? It used to be called Titan I think. One of the main differences should be the height, business/Titan being around 54cm and Atlas around 48cm.

The reason I asked is because I am undecided between these two models, and their website says the Atlas can only accommodate a 11.1inch / 28.194cm wide laptop, but FW16 with dGPU is 29cm.

After seeing a video review of Atlas, I am more inclined to get Atlas, if it can fit FW16 with dGPU because that pocket seems to have a cover which can be expanded/shrunk with velcro. That’s super convenient as right now I don’t have the dGPU but in future I may have it.

Ah yeah you’re right, I got the Titan. Business 120/EKP120 is exactly the same backpack. Mine can fit a 45,5 x32,5x5,3cm laptop. The only drawback is that the backpack is not 100% waterproof. On heavy rain, you need to put the water cover (and it work well). On light rain you don’t need it

The prima system will fit the 16 without the gpu module. It will not fit with the gpu module. I personally have an errant pro from boundary and while I dont currently have the gpu module, I did some rough mesurments and I believe it will fit with the gpu module.

For folks with a Micro Center nearby, this $10 sleeve fits the FW16-with-dGPU nicely. The zipper feels a little flimsy, but we’ll see.

let us know if you are successful in finding bags big enough for the laptop with GPU

Does anyone know if the North Face Recon Backpack (48 cm x 27.9 cm) could fit the FW16 with GPU? It is about 10mm too small, but I was hoping that it might fit but just tightly.

Do you have a link to this item?

I’m not sure, if the link will help you in any way, as I can’t see my bag any more. It was the A49 model with luggage strap, which was a tad bigger than the A42 without strap. They only sell the A42 model now, the insides are too small with dGPU module. Without, it will fit.

Do you guys have a small lip on the trackpad panel? The corner between the keyboard and track pad has a small lip on mine, it’s a barely noticeable but it is there. It got me concerned after a fellow framework laptop 16 owner had their screen damaged as a result of it. Which now makes me wonder if it’s a good idea to put this laptop in any bag and risk the screen getting cracked. I definitely need to find a roomy and spacious bag if I plan to go out with it (for my own peace of mind). All the bags I’ve found are too tight and need force.

The trackpad panel and associated spacers are flush with the base frame of the notebook. The keyboard sits a little lower, the keys are a little higher.
The trackpad panel does lift up a tiny bit along the edge of the keyboard, but is still lower than the keys themselves. I don’t think the screen is in danger if the input deck is properly installed. If you close the notebook, the screen should lie flat on the base.

I will put this between keyboard and display:

Maybe not necessary, but you always got a cloth with you to clean the display or anything else.

I wound up getting the saddleback front pocket briefcase in black. My spouse likes that better than the brown of the Adrian Klis bag. It arrived the day after I had to go on a trip, so i transferred things over once I was back, and will see how it is when I next travel. I am looking at picking up some sort of small portfolio type case to hold pens, phone, kindle, etc, as the briefcase has two large open internal compartments as well as the external pockets. So if you have any suggestions on that front, I’m all ears!

Thanks again for the recommendation, and have a great evening!

My Razer Rogue V3 16" backpack fits the FW16 very nicely in the laptop pocket. It’s a bit close with the dGPU but still comfortably accommodates it.
