[RESPONDED] Ubuntu -- Two finger right click not working?

My current trackad behavior, regardless of what the gnome-settings say is zone based. Right click on the far right side of the trackpad – middle click somewhere in the middle (which does paste, which I’m not a fan of).

What things should I check / install to make sure my trackpad is configured correctly?

System info:

  • AMD Ryzen 5 7640U w/ Radeon 760M
  • BIOS 3.03
  • Ubuntu 23.10
  • Kernel 6.5.0-13-generic
  • Gnome Shell 45.1

I am on debian trixie and have these in gnome-tweaks “Keyboard & Mouse” not gnome-settings.

Have you followed all the setup guide steps, including updating the trackpad firmware ?

Can you try a live CD of a supported distribution ?

there’s separate firmware? I thought it was included in the kernel?

is firmware different from the bios stuff?

Sorry, yes, its the fingerprint scanner that has its own update.

A live CD of a supported distro rules out any issues with the software side, hopefully

Hi @NullVoxPopuli , Can you post screenshot of your mouse & touchpad settings?
also try ruling out first if it’s hardware issue or not, by booting fedora 39 live.

cheers!

I’m pretty sure the settings aren’t being applied at all:

the scroll direction seems to stay as “Traditional” regardless of which thing is selected
