Shipping delays in Europe due to winter storm

Hey everyone,

I ordered a Framework 13 on 1 Jan and have yet to receive any updates about my order status changing. In itself not a problem as I expected a bottleneck after the holidays and I’m not in a rush, so it’s all good.

However: Europe is being hammered by a winter storm at the moment, and I have other orders coming from Hamburg / northern Europe getting stuck because of inclement weather. I believe the Netherlands, where Framework’s Europe warehouse is located, is also badly hit. The combination of factors might mean there’s a chain reaction. Who knows, we’ll see.

Thought this thread might be helpful to compare what’s going on. And try to be nice to your delivery drivers at this time of year!

Not so sure about the Netherlands. I ordered my F13 DIY last Monday. It shipped yesterday from Taiwan.

Mine shipped from Taiwan and is now in Paris and hopefully soon onwards to Austria. Would be odd to go to the Netherlands from France.

Interesting. I also ordered a DIY, maybe it takes the same route.

I saw something about a warehouse / depot in the Netherlands, but maybe I misunderstood.

@MagicDude4Eva out of interest when did you order?

Just saw an update in my account summary:

Expected ship time
Backordered - Ships in 1-2 weeks

Not sure if that applies to the date of order (1 January) or to when this ETA changed (I think today / yesterday).

The warehouse there handles spares and accessories, so if you were to order a new expansion card or screen surround it would come from a warehouse. Complete machine orders seem to always come from Taiwan, at least until they become off-the-shelf items, but even then they seem to ship from Taiwan so that any item could be shipped anywhere in the world.

Thanks for the clarification :victory_hand:

I ordered 26.12.

Update should anyone in Europe wanna compare shipping times…

  • shipped from Taiwan on 15 January
  • arrived in Paris on 16 January
  • delivered in Germany at midday on 19 January.

Once the bottleneck in Taiwan was cleared it actually went very quickly and didn’t have any issues with FedEx :victory_hand:
