I just knocked my laptop off the bed and luckily the only damage seems to be to the USB-C expansion card. I need to order a replacement.
Unfortunately, I don’t know how long it will take to be fulfilled and shipped. I travel around a lot, so I’m rarely in one place for more than a week. I’ll be in Newfoundland until Friday, so it it arrives in the next few days I can have it shipped here. If not, I could have it shipped to a friend in Germany; I’ll be there until Sept. 13th, then the next time I’m spending a week anywhere will be in Johannesburg near the end of September and Capt Town at the beginning of October. I’d rather not have it shipped to South Africa.
Can Framework give me a reliable shipping estimate, or should I just give up and assume I won’t see it until I’m back in the United States?
Framework might be able to give an estimate, but how reliable it turns out to be depends on customs and your local shipping carrier, and is beyond Framework’s control.
The parts are shipping from Taiwan, so good estimates will be unreliable. From what I heard, the usual shipping time is about 3-5 business days, so if you now order it to your friend in Germany, I’d be pretty confident it will arrive in time. However shipping delay and potential custom issues are always possible.
From what I see, Framework doesn’t estimate or guarantee shipping times.

And it looks like they expanded the number of parts they carry. Presuming it’s the same site as I’m remembering. Very nice selection. Plus worldwide shipping, for those outside of countries that Framework ships to.
