I received my 16 recently and put it all together, hit the power and nothing shows up on screen. Doesn’t even light up. I read some of the other posts and thought it might just be memory training so I left it alone for a solid 30 minutes and still nothing. I tried the thing where you take out one of your sticks of ram, then I tried taking out the ssd and all the different ports but one usb type c. Then I tried resetting the motherboard bios with the chassis switch (I should say, I tried to make sure to depress it for 2 seconds at a time but I did let it flash the red led twice in-between each depress. Not sure if that matters.) The screen has never lit up for me, though the side led and the power button never indicate any issues. The only red light I got on the diagnosis code was the 6th one, which I believe just indicated it didn’t recognize the touchpad as being connected, which makes sense since I had the thing apart. I tried attaching an external display via the USB c port (I didn’t get a hdmi port, kicking myself for that one) and nothing showed up. I bought all parts from framework except the ram. It’s a Kingston fury 32gb DDR5 5600 kit.
Sorry if that was long, just wanted to answer as many follow up questions as possible. I understand there is a customer support backlog in lieu of the 13’s release. Thankfully, my school has laptop rentals, so I’m not in a crazy rush. I have filed a support ticket, but was hoping some of the more smarterer framework pros might have some advice I could try while I wait, any help and suggestions are appreciated.
Ok, thank you. Is there a way I can trade my AI 300 for a 7040? Or would it be better to find a new ram kit? Sorry about the questions for it to just be the wrong part.
Depends on how good a deal you got for the ram kit.

There is also at least 1 report of it working on the ai300 (assuming you got the regular jdec 5600cl40 kit and not something else) so it may not just be the kit.
Yeah, I’ve tried one stick in either slot. So far I haven’t gotten any anything, but I think I did have it in slot 0 more than slot 1, I’ll do that right now to be sure. Here’s everything the ram kit says on the front,
Just like @James3 said, those tighter timings on that set of memory are probably the issue. There have been a few scattered cases of Kingston Fury memory working on the AMD boards but they were mostly the 7000 series and I think slower timings.
Even if it might work now there is a chance in the future when it tries to retrain the memory (which all the newer AMD processors do now periodically) it freaks out and stops working.
Best to try a different brand, and do not worry about the fastest CL timings. It is not making a big enough difference on the laptops vs. having it work reliably into the future. Crucial (when they were still selling/producing memory), GSkill, and Corsair have been solid choices for Framework devices. Just make sure again it is 5,600 DDR5 memory.
