[SOLVED] Framework 13 not booting

Hi Everyone,

I start by saying I’ve been more than happy with the laptops I’ve bought from Framework; alas, I’ve just run into a problem with a new laptop I just finished setting up with win11 and installing the Framework driver bundle.

It’s a 13th Gen Windows 11 DIY laptop. After finishing the installation, I noticed that if it went to sleep, the screen and the screen turned off, the screen would not turn back on after trying to wake the laptop.

Now I’m having real problems getting the machine to boot; I press the power button, can hear the fan turn over, and see the network card blink, and the USB I’ve got plugged in to attempt a Windows recovery also blinks. However, the screen never seems to come to life; stabbing at the Fn12 key, I can’t even get the system options to come up.

Does anyone have any pointers?

Many thanks

Nothing guaranteed, but this technique fixes a lot of Framework hardware problems. If you try it, please let us know whether it worked for you as well.

Hero,

I was hoping not to dive in and unplug the battery manually; having that BIOS feature to switch off the battery is excellent.
My first attempt didn’t seem to work, but I followed your instructions a second time, and now the laptop seems to boot and reboot just fine.

Thank you for the quick response!

Cheers

Woot! Thanks for letting us know. :sunglasses:
