Hello, I have been enjoying using my framework 16 the past few months; however, recently it has stopped detecting external displays I have 2 hdmi port cards, 2 hdmi cables and have checked my monitor and tv to check to see if the issue is something else.
So far I have:
force detecting the monitor
restarted my computer
updated the bios
running: DISM /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
followed by: sfc/ scannow
I am not really sure what to do next apart from maybe taking apart laptop and checking for loose connections. I just want to make sure, is there something else I should try before that?
(Also, the computer does still make a sound when it is plugged in, it is just not detecting the monitor)
You can try checking for any new driver updates from Framework.
Also try swapping out your expansion card order such as HDMI with USB A or C and testing if you can plug in a flash drive or something and get it detected.
I had an issue on my Framework where my USB A port on the right second slot suddenly stopped working. I swapped it out with the Micro SD expansion card I had below it and the Micro SD card showed up. Afterwards, the USB A also started working again. I am not sure what is the cause of this issue, but this may get your HDMI to work.
If you have the dGPU module, you can also try plugging into the USB C port at the back of the GPU Expansion Bay Module.

Which expansion card slots are you plugging the HDMI cards into?

I went to check for new drivers in the Devise manager this time and realized the display adapter had somehow been disabled it, I re-enabled it and now everything works as it should. (I had also tried swapping the cards just prior to the discovery of the display adapter driver being disabled so that may also have helped)
Thank you guys so much!
