[SOLVED] Upper (keyboard) case front edge is lifting

I have a Framework 13 which has had a few upgrades (mainboard, screen, battery etc). It is a few years old by now! In general, I’ve been happy with the hardware and build quality.

Over the past month though, the front edge of the frame - specifically the area across just between the outer edge and the trackpad - has been lifting. The front corners are fully seated but the space across the trackpad is now flexing quite a lot.

  • Are other people seeing similar issues? Any clues to what might cause this?
  • What replacement part should I be looking at?
    • Is the upper part of the case for the new Pro models compatible?

Have you checked the battery to see if it might be swelling? Though I can’t see the picture, it sounds like this might be the problem.

I have no idea why I hadn’t even opened it up to look at that - yes - you’re right - it doesn’t look great there. Thanks for the pointer - I feel pretty dumb for not checking on that already :person_facepalming:
