[SOLVED] Windows Hello Fingerprint Sensor no longer working

For me, I was able to register a fingerprint but couldn’t use it to log in. I fixed this by resetting the biometric service: Windows 10: Resetting the Windows Hello Biometrics | Dell Canada

Same problem affects me, too–Julian’s and ResetDrier’s fixes work for me, but only temporarily. The module always eventually stops working again. It is an annoyance but not a dealbreaker.

for me it was a bit different, I could scan new fingers, but it wouldnt save them. every time I scanned a finger that was scanned before it stopped working it told me unable to register, already registerd, but I deleted all scans in settings
still your fix worked for me, but I just booted into linux and just deleted the files in WinBioDatabase (others might want to search them first in windows with %WINDIR%\System32\WinBioDatabase)
Also I could see in eventlog errors regarding removing biometric data 0x8009801B
